03.04Shopping ads

Your products, in the carousel that sells.

Shopping results are chosen by the feed, not by keywords — so the work starts in Merchant Center. We fix the data, structure campaigns around margin and priority, and report the only number that matters for a store: return on ad spend.

The problem

A bad feed cannot be fixed with bids

Titles that omit the brand and size, missing GTINs, disapprovals nobody clears, one campaign for the whole catalog with a single bid — Shopping campaigns built on a weak feed show for the wrong queries at the wrong price. The feed determines what you are eligible for; the campaign structure determines what you pay.

How we run it

Shopping Ads, step by step.

Step 01

Feed first

Every product's data is corrected so it is eligible for the queries that convert.

Step 02

Structure by margin

Products are grouped so each bid reflects what a sale is worth.

Step 03

Control the queries

Search terms are reviewed and negatives applied to stop unprofitable matches.

Step 04

Report in ROAS

Return on ad spend by category, product and campaign every month.

Questions

Shopping Ads, answered.

What is a product feed?
The structured file Merchant Center reads to learn what you sell — title, description, price, availability, images, identifiers and categories. Google matches searches against the feed, so its quality controls what your ads can show for.
Should Shopping run inside Performance Max?
Often part of the catalog should — Performance Max reaches surfaces Standard Shopping does not. But margin-critical products usually belong in Standard Shopping where bids and queries can be controlled directly. We split the catalog deliberately.
Do you manage Microsoft Shopping too?
Yes. The same feed can be imported into Microsoft Merchant Center, and Shopping campaigns run on Bing at lower competition.
How do you handle out-of-stock products?
Availability is synced from the store so ads stop automatically, and custom labels keep discontinued lines out of the campaigns entirely.
