06.01Analytics & tracking

If it is not measured, it is a guess.

Every optimization decision — bids, pages, budgets, channels — is only as good as the data behind it. We set up GA4, Tag Manager and the ad platforms so a conversion means a lead or a sale, nothing more and nothing less, and so the numbers agree with your bank account.

The problem

Three tools, three different numbers

GA4 says forty leads, Google Ads says ninety, the CRM says twenty-two. Events fire twice, the thank-you page counts refreshes, the phone calls are invisible and consent settings silently drop half the traffic. Decisions made on that data are worse than decisions made on none.

How we run it

Analytics & GA4, step by step.

Step 01

Define

Conversions and values are written down before anything is tagged.

Step 02

Implement

GA4, Tag Manager and platform tags are built from the plan and documented.

Step 03

Validate

Every event is tested on real devices and reconciled with real leads.

Step 04

Maintain

Tags are reviewed when the site or platforms change; drift is caught early.

Questions

Analytics & GA4, answered.

Is my GA4 set up correctly?
Most properties we audit are not — default events counted as conversions, no values, internal traffic included, thank-you pages counting refreshes, key events missing for calls. An audit takes a few hours and usually changes the numbers materially.
What is server-side tracking?
Sending conversion events from your server to the ad platforms and analytics rather than relying only on browser scripts, which ad blockers and privacy features increasingly block. It recovers lost conversions and improves the data the platforms optimize on.
Do I need a consent banner?
If you serve visitors in regions with consent laws, or use Google's consent-based features, yes. Configured properly it keeps you compliant without discarding the data you rely on.
Can you connect analytics to my CRM?
Yes — leads carry their source, campaign and click IDs into the CRM, and closed-deal outcomes flow back to the ad platforms as offline conversions, so bidding learns what a real customer looks like.
